Jay Tarmino: bass, back-up vocals

Musical Influences:

Dad, Gene Simmons, Ian Hill, Geezer Butler, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee, Nikki Sixx, all of the great 70s and 80s bass players, and my band mates: Tony, Pete and Ted.

Goals as a musician:

Musicianship is very important to me. However, I am more interested in having fun and watching people that come to the shows have fun. The playing has to be good or they will not have a good time. My goals musically are to be able to play as much as I can without looking down at my bass. If I am looking at the crowd and interacting with them and not my bass I am doing my job. I practice all the time to improve on this every day. Lord knows I need it. I have no ambition to be the best or flashiest bass player in the city. I would rather be the most consistent bass player as well as someone who looks like they having the time of their life no matter if there is 1 person in the crowd or 1000 people. Sometimes the best notes a bass player can play is no notes. I am very fortunate to be playing with some of the best musicians in the city with this band. We make each other better every time we play together.

Favorites:

My Family (Jamie, Kenzie and John).I live for them. Friends, playing in DOWNLOAD, buying new equipment, going to Loon Lake, 7 & Diet, Bud Light, laughing, going to see other bands play, hanging out with my wife, playing with my kids, garbage plates, House of Guitars. My mother’s cutlets and my father in law's meatballs. Besides the family these are no order of preference.

Personal Quote:

I talk way too much to have one personal quote.

Equipment :( Not that anyone cares)

Gibson basses, Ampeg amps and cabs, Sennheiser wireless and DR strings.

Interesting fact about myself:

Although while growing up I loved music, my first love was hockey. I have been playing since I was 4 years old from travel hockey to pro hockey in Europe. It was a great experience and something I will never forget. I was very fortunate to be able to play with some great NHL players and play all over the country and world.
